Ashton is to make his appearance in the upcoming movie Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge. He revealed that he has been counting blessings after battling two years ago one of the autoimmune diseases privately.

As per a sneak peek via Access Hollywood, he said to the Grylls, “I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium.” 

He also added, “It took me about a year to build it all back up.”

Vasculitis

Vasculitis is one of the diseases causing the thickening of the blood vessel walls in a person. It sometimes even cuts off the blood supply to the tissues and certain organs.

“I’m lucky to be alive,” he said.

Taking a sneak peek into the show, which is set for airing at 9 p.m. ET Monday, Kutcher, and Grylls are seen chatting as they hike through an area filled with fallen branches.

While getting through, Kutcher is seen finally opening up about his mindset, which was helpful for him to overcome the most difficult time.

 “The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right? You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.”
